2018 White House Ornament Reveal

Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum
Independence, MO

Monday, February 19, 2018 - 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. CST

You heard it here first: This year's official 2018 White House Christmas Ornament will honor President Truman and his administration.

In 1981, the White House Historical Association launched an initiative to celebrate history by offering unique annual Christmas ornaments to the public. Since then the ornaments have become a sought-after and beloved collector's item for millions of families around the country, providing an opportunity for admirers of the history and the elegance of the White House to share the traditions and stories of holidays past with the next generation. Conceived by a new designer each year, the ornament honors either an individual president or a significant White House anniversary.

As part of our President's Day line-up of events, Stewart McLaurin, President of the White House Historical Association, will be on hand to unveil this year's ornament and he will speak about how the different components incorporated into the design are connected to President Truman's legacy.

This event is free for Truman Library Institute members or with paid admission to the museum: $8 for adults, $7 for seniors.

All events listed in the calendar are free unless noted.
