2024 Parkview High School Black History Month Performance

William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum
Little Rock, AR

Sunday, February 25, 2024 - 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. CST

Registration

The dramatic and uplifting performance will feature a selection of songs and scenes depicting President Mandela’s beginning as the son of a chief in a small village, his role as a leader in the fight for racial equality in South Africa, and his election as the first Black president of South Africa. The audience will experience the legacy of a fierce yet kind warrior who withstood 27 years of imprisonment to deliver democracy to his people.

The performance will conclude in 1994, when President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton welcomed President Mandela to the White House for a formal state visit, which is featured in the Clinton Center’s current temporary exhibition, “Be Our Guest.” The Clintons shared a close friendship with President Mandela lasting until his death in 2013.
