Join us for a final 2023 edition of Third Thursday at Hoovers for "Herbert Hoover: Promises to Keep" on Thursday, November 16!

Edward Gale Agran will lead a discussion into a closer look at the first six months of Hoover's administration, highlighting the Progressive Era reformer at the top of his game.

Agran is a cultural historian and Professor Emeritus at Wilmington College. His teaching and publications focus on the first decades of the 20th century. His studies of journalist William Allen White, novelist Sinclair Lewis, and Herbert Hoover examine the American Promise, middle-class values, and the power of words.

Agran recently lectured in the University of Iowa Senior College Program on Lewis' 1920s novels.
