Emergency School Assistance Case Files
This series consists of correspondence, reports, exhibits, charts, and plans relating to the racial integration of elementary and secondary schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Exhibits may include lists of principals, teachers, and staff employed by the school district with demographic information such as race, sex, degree, duration of teaching experience, employment status, and salary and statistics presenting the racial composition of the school district's student population.
Administers federal programs to protect and improve the nation's physical and mental health. These series consist of registers of hospital patients in Memphis, Tennessee, during the periods 1881-1884 and 1909-1911. Entries may include the name of the patient and his age; birthplace; the number of years as a seaman; the date of admission to the hospital; the nature of his disease; and the date of discharge or death.
