2021 Online Art and Essay Contest for Texas, Region 6 Students

The Education Department is currently accepting entries for the 2021 Art and Essay Contest! Students in grades K-12 in Texas' Region 6 schools and home schools are encouraged to participate. All entries must be uploaded by 11:59 p.m. on March 10, 2021. For more information about how your students can participate, download the contest fliers using by clicking on the buttons below.

Art Contest: Environmental Art | Call for traditional original art depicting or using materials representing environmental art. Use your imagination and your understanding of environmental issues found via land, sea, or space to express yourself. Consider artistic use of materials related to this topic, i.e. recycled. Use of natural and nontoxic environmental materials is an option. All art submissions shall be made online only.

Essay Contest: Environmental Issues | Call for original literary nonfiction essays researching, analyzing, and using critical thinking processes to create an original essay in a narrative story format with characterizations and personalized. Consider environmental issues and the impact being made in your life or others lives. Based on factual research, use your understanding of environmental issues found via land, water, air or space. What best practices could help to diminish your environmental issue? A bibliography or list of reference sources used is required. All essay submissions shall be made online only.
