Ask an Archivist, Converse with a Curator

William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum
Little Rock, AR

Friday, April 21, 2023 - 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. CDT

The 1990s revolutionized the role of technology in the White House. White House staff during the Clinton Administration used e-mail, cellular phones, and pagers to communicate both among themselves and the public. The Clinton Administration published the first White House website (whitehouse.gov), which gave the public a new avenue of access to the White House. Desktop computers and an Executive Office of the President (EOP) email account were essential to conduct the business of the Presidency during the last decade of the 20th century. See select objects that were used to communicate during the Clinton Presidency, along with learning how archivists preserve, process, and overcome hurdles to provide access to technological records and their various formats created during the Clinton Administration.
