The GeorgeBush Library and Museum is pleased to partner with The Hungarian Consulatein Houston to bring Mr. Zsolt Nmeth, a member of the Hungarian Parliament since the first free and democratic elections in 1990, and Marek Matraszek, Chairman, CEC Government Relations for an Issues Forum on Tuesday, December 3, at 6 p.m.Mr. Nmeth and Mr. Matraszek will discuss the end of the Cold War and American-Hungarian relations since the fall of the Iron Curtain.
President George Bush paid a historical visit to Hungary in 1989. The regime-change that started30 years ago culminated in the free elections in the spring of 1990.Hungary joined NATO in 1999 and became a factor of stability in Central Europe and elsewhere.However current challenges in global stability require close cooperation between allies across the Atlantic.
