ISCAP MDR Forum

Purpose: To bring together Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR) requesters, Interagency Security Classification Appeals Panel (ISCAP) appellants, agency MDR officials, the staff of the ISCAP, and observers of the declassification system to talk about issues of common interest, including:
- Recommendations for filing productive MDR requests
- Agency responsibilities for processing MDR requests
- The ISCAP MDR appeal adjudication process
- Outlook for ISCAP activity in 2018
The discussion will include comments from George Sturgis from the Office of the Secretary of Defense MDR office as well as from requester William Burr, senior analyst at the National Security Archive.
Who Should Attend: ISCAP appellants, MDR and other declassification staff from Federal agencies, and others interested in the ISCAP’s role as the appellate body for classification and declassification decisions in the executive branch.
