Using Family Search Strategies

National Archives at New York City 3rd floor Learning Center
New York, NY

Tuesday, September 25, 2018 - 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EDT

Family Search, a nonprofit family history organization, has partnered with the National Archives and Records Administration to digitize and share records that will be of interest to genealogists and historians.  In the last year millions of New York City area naturalization records have become available on their website, and in the past two years they have scanned another half a million Military, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and Upstate New York naturalizations.

Navigating the waters of genealogical research online can be a complex task.  Archivist Carey Stumm and Family Search volunteer Staci Conger will talk about the process of digitizing these records, discuss the records available, and walk you through how best to access them.

Please RSVP at newyork.archives@nara.gov or call toll-free: 1-866-840-1752, due to limited spaces.

All events listed in the calendar are free unless noted.
