Gavel: 937
Presented to President Harry S. Truman on June 26, 1945, when he addressed the closing session of the United Nations Conference on International Organization being held at the Opera House in San Francisco, California.
Gavel has elaborately turned wood handle and head made of dark, varnished wood. Curved, sterling silver band attached to center of head with two brads is engraved, "HARRY S. TRUMAN/President of the United States of America/United Nations Conference/ San Francisco - June 26, 1945."
