Bush, 43rd President of the United States, will launch the release of his new book, titled "41: A Portrait of My Father", at an invitation-only event at the George Bush Presidential Library Center in College Station, Texas. This personal biography tells the story of his father, President George H.W. Bush, 41st President of the United States, through his own eyes and in his own words. President and Mrs. George H.W. Bush are planning to attend this very special event.Hosting President George W. Bush at Texas A&M on the day 41 is released, and sharing that day with his father, the subject of the biography, is a momentous occasion in the 17-year history of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, said Frederick D. McClure, CEO of the George Bush Foundation.The event, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center on the Texas A&M University campus, will be the second lecture in the George Bush Distinguished Authors Series hosted by the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation. The presentation will include a moderated conversation with President Bush 43 and his former White House chief of staff, Andrew H. Card Jr., who also served as Secretary of Transportation for President Bush 41.A unique and intimate biography, "41" covers the entire scope of the elder President Bushs life and career, including his service in the Pacific during World War II, his pioneering work in the Texas oil business, and his political rise as a Congressman, U.S. Representative to China and the United Nations, CIA Director, Vice President, and President. The book shines new light on both the accomplished statesman and the warm, decent man known best by his family.In addition, George W. Laughs and Love Highlight 2014 Vintner Dinner and Wine Auction


A night of raucous laughs provided by conservative comedic darling Dennis Miller, and love for the 41st President of the United States, George H.W. Bush, marked the annual fundraiser for George Bush Presidential Library Foundation held Thursday night.Three generations of Bush Family members, including President Bush, Barbara Bush, Neil Bush and his wife and son, Maria and Pierce Bush, packed the ballroom at the Royal Sonesta hotel for the Foundation's most successful event to date.Over a sumptuous meal paired with six world-class wines, guests including Senator Ted Cruz and wife Heidi, and former Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips and his wife Laurie, paid tribute to President Bush and raised more than $650,000 for the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M and the Foundation.The annual Vintner Dinner and Wine Auction featured a variety of great wines in its silent and live auctions, including a one-of-a-kind 5-litre 2012 Kosta Browne Winery Gaps Crown Pinot Noir, etched with a silhouette of President and Mrs. Bush, luxurious excursions to Kennebunkport, ME, and Sonoma County, CA, and 41 bottles of exclusive Mot Hennessy Champagne. On Monday night, the Foundation hosted The George Bush Foundation Lecture Series, presented by Wells Fargo, with three former members of President George H.W. Bushs staff to discuss their various works on the Presidents life. The speakers included Chase Untermeyer, author of When Things Went Right, John Sununu, author of The Quiet Man: The Indispensable Presidency of George H. W. Bush and Mary Kate Cary, executive producer of 41ON41. The trio shared personal stories and memories of working with President Bush, focusing both on the impact that he has had on our nation as well as the lighter side of his personality and humor that he is so well known for.View Video Find an Event

The George H.W. Bush Center to showcase hands-on display of Leonardo Da Vinci inventions


Leonardo da Vinci: Machines in Motion includes over 30 actual-size working machines, as opposed to miniatures or static displays. The machines were designed by a modern team of scientists and artisans who using the same construction techniques employed during Leonardo's time.The exhibit is organized into four parts based on Leonardos study of the elements of nature and applied knowledge: earth, water, air and fire. Highlights include a revolving crane, a full-size armored tank (large enough for several visitors to explore inside), a working robot, and an oil press. Other displays include the auto feed hydraulic saw, the pillar lifter, floats for walking on water, the parachute and the machine gun.The exhibition is of particular interest to students and young audiences because it provides an engaging combination of education and entertainment in an experience that explores history, science, mechanics and physics, invention and innovation.
