America's Founding Documents

The Declaration: Mural by Barry Faulkner

The Declaration mural by Barry Faulkner is a symbolic depiction of Thomas Jefferson presenting the Declaration of Independence to John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress. The mural features 28 delegates who were in attendance when Congress declared independence. Of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, 26 are included in the mural. Two delegates, John Dickinson and Robert Livingston, are depicted, but did not sign because they were not present on August 2, 1776, when most of the other delegates signed.
