Washington, DC
The National Archives at College Park is proud to present a free open rehearsal of the Guarneri String Quartet on Monday, November 10, 1997 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. This is a rare opportunity to hear the Guarneri String Quartet, hailed by Newsweek as "one of the most elegant chamber ensembles."
The Guarneri String Quartet, which was awarded the prestigious award of Merit from the Association of Performing Arts Presentors, is one of the most revered quartets in the world today. During the 1994-5 season, the original four members celebrated their 30th anniversary. They have circled the globe countless times together, playing the world’s most prestigious halls in North and South America, Mexico, Europe, the Far East and Australia. In their home town of New York City, they have maintained their two special series, "Guarneri and Friends" at Lincoln Center (since 1973) and recital programs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (since 1965).
This free event is open to the public. The National Archives at College Park is located at 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD. Free parking is available. Please call the National Archives Public Events line at 202-501-5000 for more information.
