Media Alert: Press Preview of Emancipation Proclamation at the National Archives
WHAT:
Opportunity to photograph the Emancipation Proclamation and the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Re-Enactors who will serve as an honor guard for the document and to interview experts about the document.

Friday, January 16, 1998, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
WHERE:
Rotunda of the National Archives
Media Entrance: Pennsylvania Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets, NW Washington, DC
Please note: NO ARTIFICIAL LIGHT may be used in the Rotunda.

The original Emancipation Proclamation, signed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, will be on display at the National Archives from January 16 through January 22, 1998.
