National Archives Sponsors Workshop on Use of the Federal Register

Washington, D.C -- The National Archives will offer a public workshop on the use of the "Federal Register" on Tuesday, March 10, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia. The workshop, entitled "The Federal Register: What It Is And How To Use It," will be held from 9:00 A.M. to approximately 12:00 P.M. in Theater A of the Museum Building at the Jimmy Carter Library, 441 Freedom Plaza, One Copenhill Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30307-1498.

As the official source of information on the policies, regulations and notices of the Federal government, the "Federal Register" is of interest to all those affected by Federal rules and policies. It is published by the Office of the Federal Register, a part of the National Archives and Records Administration.

Participants will learn how to obtain up-to-date regulatory information from the "Federal Register" and the "Code of Federal Regulations" through the use of a workbook and instruction on various aspects of the publications. They will also be given an opportunity to work through a typical research problem as a practical exercise in the use of Federal Register finding aides.

The workshop is free, but reservations are necessary. For additional information and reservations, please call the Federal Information Center at 1-800-688-9889 x 0.
