The National Archives Features Eisenhower Report on Nazi Looted Materials

Washington, DC . . . On Tuesday, November 24 the National Archives and Records Administration will open a small display of a 1945 message from General Dwight D. Eisenhower reporting on Nazi looted material that was captured by the U.S. Army at the end of World War II. Nazi looting of the central banks of occupied countries and individual victims during the Holocaust has been described as the greatest theft by a government in world history.

The Rotunda exhibition is free and open to the public and will be on display from November 24 through December 6. The National Archives Building is located at Constitution Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets, NW.

This special document is being displayed to mark meeting of representatives from more than 40 nations gathering in Washington, DC this month to discuss the recovery and restitution of Holocaust-era assets.
