WHAT: Opportunity to photograph or film the National Archives and Records Administration’s exhibition celebrating John Glenn’s second mission in space, before it opens to the public. The small exhibition features four pages of the official NASA flight transcript from Glenn’s first space mission in 1962, chronicling his perilous reentry into the earth's atmosphere in the Friendship 7 Mercury spacecraft. The manual control that Glenn used to navigate the spacecraft when the autopilot system failed will also be shown.

Please note: NO ARTIFICIAL LIGHT may be used in the Rotunda.

The exhibition is free and open to the public and will be on display from October 19 through November 12, 1998. In December, the document will become part of the major exhibition, "American Originals," which flanks the Charters of Freedom in the Rotunda.
