Last Chance to view National Archives Exhibition "Picturing the Century: Part I"

Washington, DC. . .Monday, February 21 is the last day to view Part I of the National Archives major photo exhibition "Picturing the Century: 100 years of Photography from the National Archives" before it closes on Tuesday, February 22, 2000 for the installation of "Picturing the Century: Part II" (scheduled to open on Friday, March 24, 2000).

This is the first time in 20 years that the National Archives and Records Administration has showcased its priceless collection of more than 8 million photographs. The exhibition includes breathtaking views of the American West; nostalgic images of rural America; anguished portraits of urban blight; and snapshots of Americans at work and at play, captured by famous and anonymous photographers.

The new version of the show features 130 new black and white and color selections from the National Archives holdings. This major exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will be on display through July 4, 2001. The National Archives Building is located on Constitution Avenue, between 7th and 9th Streets, NW, Washington, DC.
