Meeting Technology's Challenge: A National Archives Executive Briefing

WHAT:   A high-level briefing and discussion on the National Archives' response to the increasing challenge of electronic records. This presentation will provide important insights on the future of Federal recordkeeping and archival preservation at the national and regional levels.

WHO:

 

Lewis Bellardo, Deputy Archivist of the United States
"Re-designing the National Archives Records Management Program"
Dr. Bellardo will discuss how the National Archives is addressing technological change.

L. Reynolds Cahoon, Assistant Archivist and Chief Information Officer for the National Archives
"Electronic Records Archive"
Mr. Cahoon will address the National Archives' electronic archives of the future – the Electronic Records Archives (ERA). ERA will preserve and provide access to any kind of electronic record, free from dependency on any specific hardware or software.

Tom Mills, Assistant Archivist for Regional Records Services
"Regional Customer Services"
Mr. Mills will explore ways technology is changing essential National Archives' regional services.
