National Archives to Open Additional Materials Relating to John Roberts Today

WHAT: The National Archives at College Park will open approximately 1,328 pages of material that pertain to John Roberts from Record Group 60, Records of the Department of Justice, Files of the Attorney General, William French Smith, 1981-1985.

These documents, consisting of memoranda and other materials, were located in various folders in Mr. Smith's files during the processing of a FOIA request by the National Archives. Some of these documents have been previously released from other files.

This release is part of the process to review and make available materials from the holdings of the National Archives that pertain to Judge John Roberts.

WHERE: These records will be available at:

The National Archives at College Park, 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD,
Room 1000

Scanners and laptops may be used. Clean research room rules will apply. All researchers must have a current photo ID.

WHEN:This group of records relating to John Roberts will open to the public at 3 PM today, September 3, 2005. The Research Room will remain open until 5 PM. It will reopen on Tuesday morning at 9 AM.
