Reagan Library Releases Additional Reagan Records Relating to John Roberts

WHAT: The Ronald Reagan Library and the National Archives and Records Administration will open approximately 18,000 pages of materials from the White House Office of Records Management Subject case files at the Library.  This is the material referred to in the National Archives press release of August 30, 2005 under the heading "Reagan Library Discovers Additional Roberts Records."

The vast majority of records being opened today were not written by John Roberts, and the records being opened that were authored by John Roberts are mostly duplicative of records previously opened from the Roberts’ Staff Member Office Files.

WHERE: These records will be available simultaneously at:

National Archives Building, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC

Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley, CA

To accommodate the anticipated demand, the research room at the National Archives in Washington, DC will remain open on Friday until 9:00 PM. Scanners and laptops may be used. Clean research room rules will apply. Given space limitations in Washington, DC, teams are limited to three people per media outlet/organization. All researchers must have a current photo ID.

WHEN: This group of Reagan records relating to John Roberts will open to the public at 12PM (EDT) in Washington, DC and at 9AM (PDT) in Simi Valley on Friday, September 2, 2005.
