National Archives Welcomes Dan Rather May 4 at noon

Washington, DC…On Friday, May 4, at noon, the National Archives welcomes Dan Rather, who will discuss his new autobiography Rather Outspoken: My Life in the News. National Public Radio news analyst Cokie Roberts will join Mr. Rather to discuss the inside stories and the personalities he has worked with over his remarkable career.

The program is free and open to the public. It will be held in the William G. McGowan Theater of the National Archives Building in Washington, DC, located on the National Mall at Constitution Ave. and 7th Street, NW. Metro accessible on the Yellow and Green lines, Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter station. Attendees should enter through the Special Events entrance on 7th and Constitution Ave, NW.

Former CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather discusses the important moments of his career in his autobiography, including a frank accounting of his dismissal from CBS News and inside stories about the people he has interviewed or worked with over his more than 60 years as a professional journalist. A book signing will follow the program; the book is available at a discount from the Archives Shop (202-357-5271) before and during the event. Seating is first-come, first-served, no reservations accepted, doors open at 11:15 a.m. at the Special Events Entrance.
