National Archives Revisits Nixon’s Labor and Employment Policy December 5

Washington, DC…On Monday, December 5, from 9:30-11:30 AM, the National Archives will host a panel discussion on “Labor and Employment Policy in the Nixon Administration.” This event is free and open to the public and will take place in the William G. McGowan Theater of the National Archives Building in Washington, DC. Attendees should use the Special Events Entrance, located on the National Mall at Constitution Ave. and 7th Street, NW. This program is presented in partnership with the Richard Nixon Foundation.

Ann Korologos, Labor Secretary under President Ronald Reagan, moderates a discussion on President Richard Nixon’s labor and employment policy with three former Nixon Administration officials. Panelists include William Kilberg, former Solicitor of Labor under Nixon; Laurence Silberman, former Solicitor and Undersecretary of Labor under Nixon; and Michael Moskow, former senior staff economist with the Council of Economic Advisers under Nixon and later assistant secretary for policy development and research at the Department of Housing and Urban Development under Nixon. Film clips of George Shultz, Secretary of Labor under Nixon, and William Usery, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Labor-Management Relations under Nixon will also be shown.
