Public Programs, Special Events at All Facilities Cancelled Through August 31
Press Release · Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Washington, DC

Public programs and special events at all National Archives and Records Administration facilities are cancelled through August 31, 2020. The annual Independence Day celebration in Washington, DC, will be a virtual event on July 4 and take place online. The National Archives will also celebrate the centennial anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed women the right to vote, with several virtual events in August. We will provide more details, when they are available, on Archives.gov and over our social media channels.

The National Archives is committed to protecting the health and safety of visitors, customers, and employees during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. As a federal government agency, we will only open our facilities when our assessment aligns with the criteria and requirements laid out by the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of Personnel Management, as detailed in M-20-23, "Aligning Federal Agency Operations with the National Guidelines for Opening Up America Again."
