Press Release · Tuesday, August 10, 2021

Washington, DC

On Tuesday, August 17, at 1 pm ET, the National Archives will host a virtual town hall to introduce its new draft Strategic Plan. A question-and-answer period will follow presentations by senior leadership. This event is open to the public and closed captions will be online here

In addition to reaffirming the agency’s Mission, Vision, Values, Transformational Outcomes, and Strategic Goals (see Strategic Plan FY 2018-2022), the new draft Strategic Plan updates the agency’s objectives to prioritize improving equity and outreach to traditionally underserved communities, providing a world-class customer experience for all customers, and using the agency’s pandemic experience to accelerate agency modernization.

Feedback will be accepted through August 20, 2021 via email (strategy@nara.gov) and GitHub. The revised draft plan will be shared with the Office of Management and Budget by September 13, 2021. The final Strategic Plan will be published in February 2022.
