Press Preview for National Archives’ All American Sports Exhibit Sept. 12

WHAT: A special press-only “sneak peek” of the National Archives exhibit All American: The Power of Sports before it opens to the public. The 3,000-square-foot exhibition uses more than 75 original National Archives records to explore the role of sports in creating, spreading, and promoting American identity.

WHEN: Monday, September 12, 2022, at 5 p.m.
Media pre-set at 4:30 p.m. Media are invited to stay for the opening reception at 6:30 p.m. with featured speaker Dikembe Mutombo, NBA Hall of Famer and Global Ambassador.

WHERE: Boeing Learning Center ReSource Room, National Archives Museum, Washington, DC

Please use the Special Events entrance on Constitution Avenue at 7th Street, NW.

All American curator Alice Kamps will lead a tour of the exhibit in the Lawrence F. O’Brien Gallery following the remarks program. 

Please Note: No Additional Light May Be Used in the Lawrence F. O’Brien Gallery, the Records of Rights, Public Vaults, or Rotunda.

All American is free and open to the public and will be on display in the Lawrence F. O’Brien Gallery of the National Archives Museum in Washington, DC, from September 16, 2022, through January 7, 2024.
