MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY CONTACTS: PROGRAM UPDATE: NARA's Agency Services Bimonthly Records and Information Discussion Group (BRIDG) August Meeting - Wednesday, August 6, 2014

In consideration of the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) travel advisory for the Washington, DC, area related to President Obama’s summit this week with African leaders, NARA is making a few changes to the Agency Services BRIDG program this Wednesday. The main program from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. will proceed as previously scheduled. However, the informal networking hour at 9:00 a.m. and the Meet and Greet session with Appraisal Teams 2 and 4 scheduled for1:15 p.m. are both canceled for this month.

If you are planning to attend the BRIDG meeting, please allow additional time to travel. The meeting will be held at the National Archives and Records Administration downtown building, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW (Metrorail's Yellow or Green lines to the Archives/Navy Memorial station) in the McGowan Theater. Please enter on the Constitution Avenue side of the building, the "Special Events" entrance (which is actually the exit for the general public).

The BRIDG meeting will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the McGowan Theater (basement level). Meeting agenda items include the following:

  • Don Rosen, Director, Policy Analysis and Enforcement, and Laurence Brewer, Director, National Records Management Program, will provide an update on agency reporting related to the Managing Government Records Directive including statistics, preliminary findings, and next steps.

  • Jeff Lunsford, Chief Financial Analyst for the Federal Records Centers Program, will give a preview of FY 2015 records center storage and services rates.

  • Gary Rauchfuss, newly appointed Director of the Records Management Training Program, will introduce himself and provide a brief update on the program and Directive-related activities.

You may reserve places for several staff in the same email, but for security purposes we must have each individual's name, telephone number, and email address

Meetings WILL BE CANCELED if the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announces a "closed," "unscheduled leave," "liberal leave," or "delayed arrival" policy for Federal employees for that day or if there has been an elevation to threat level RED in the Homeland Security status.
