MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY CONTACTS: National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) and NARA presentation on Capstone, November 17, 2016

NARA is pleased to announce a session featuring the National Security Agency / Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) presenting on their email management strategies and adoption of the Capstone approach to email management..

WHAT IS THE SESSION TOPIC: The session will feature speakers from both NSA/CSS and NARA. The focus will be on NSA’s email management strategy, approval of the NSA form NA-1005 Verification for Implementing GRS 6.1: Email Managed Under a Capstone Approach, and other email management topics.

WHEN IS THIS EVENT: This session is scheduled for Thursday, November 17, 2016, and will run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please note that this session will only be available in-person and there will be no live webcast.

WHERE IS THIS EVENT: National Archives Building, McGowan Theater, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC, NW.

PRESENTATION MATERIALS AND RECORDINGS: Due to the sensitivity of the presentation content, no recording will be provided. NARA and NSA will, however, make presentation materials available to all interested parties after the session.

WHO MAY ATTEND: Attendance is limited to Federal employees and contractors working within Federal agencies. The event is not open to outside contractors, vendors, or members of the public. Due to expected high attendance, we must limit attendance to three (3) participants per agency. Agencies may request additional participants be added to a wait list.

HOW TO REGISTER: Registration is required for this event. We ask that the RSVP for each agency come from the Agency Records Officer to ensure that we are properly tracking attendees for each agency. Records Officers should send the names, titles, email addresses, and phone numbers for each attendee to Sean Curry, sean.curry@nara.gov,215-305-2036. Please register no later than November 10, 2016.

QUESTION SUBMISSIONS FOR THE SESSION: Due to the sensitivity of the presentation content, there will be NO question-and-answer period on the day of the presentation. We are encouraging the submission of questions in advance, so that they may be incorporated into the presentation. Questions must be received no later than October 15, 2016, and may be sent to Sean Curry, sean.curry@nara.gov, 215-305-2036.

DIRECTIONS: The meeting will be held at the National Archives and Records Administration downtown building, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW (Metrorail’s Yellow or Green lines to the Archives/Navy memorial station) in the McGowan Theater. Please enter on the Constitution Avenue side of the building, the “Special Events” entrance (which is actually the exit for the general public).
