The Washington National Records Center encompasses approximately 789,000 square feet of space and has a capacity to hold over 3.9 million cubic feet of Federal records. Security systems, and fire suppression systems protect the records in the Center.
Upon arrival, visitors to the Center must go through security, sign in, and present photo identification at the guard's station in the entrance lobby. The WNRC does not provide computers to researchers, but there is limited access to power sources.
Visitors are welcome to view the current exhibit in the entrance lobby.
A nurse is on duty, and can be reached at (301) 778-1524.
Vending machines with refreshments are available at the southeast end of the building. All food and beverages must be consumed in this area. Also, a number of fast food and full service restaurants are located near the Suitland facility.
