Relocation of Civil War-related Treasury Department Records

 

Staff at the National Archives at College Park are moving approximately 525 cubic feet of Treasury Department records related to the American Civil War to the  National Archives at Washington, DC. The records being transferred have a natural relationship and compliment the holdings of the National Archives at Washington, DC. These series include records obtained (and in many cases) captured by Federal forces towards the end of the war. This relocation to Washington, DC will facilitate more efficient archival research and public access to these records.
