National Historical Publications & Records Commission

Basic Processing Projects Conference Call

Archives: Basic Projects Conference Call

The National Historical Publications and Records Commission staff will hold two conference calls to answer questions about its Archives: Basic Projects grants.

In brief, the Commission developed this category because it is particularly concerned that some historical collections in archives and repositories are difficult for most researchers to find because they are not processed or represented in national catalogs. As a result, the Commission seeks proposals for projects that support backlog processing and collections cataloging, phased preservation, and/or collections development.

Applications are due on 7 October 2010. NHPRC staff will review drafts that are submitted by 2 August 2010.

The dates and times for these calls are

  • Monday, 21 June @ 3:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Wednesday, 30 June @ 3:00 PM Eastern Time

The conference call will last one hour. If you are interested in participating, please send an email to Christine Dunham at christine.dunham@nara.gov. In the email please include your name, affiliation and the date of the call in which you wish to participate. Please also list the names of any other staff that may be listening or participating on the call with you and whether or not you will need multiple phone lines. Due to a limited number of available phone lines, we encourage staff in the same location to share phone lines. The conference call-in number will be emailed out to registered callers once the call is full or at least one week in advance of the call date.

We are limited to 25 participants on these calls.
