Archivist of the United States Allen Weinstein to be a Special Guest on Ask the White House

Washington, DC…On Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at 4 p.m., Archivist of the United States Allen Weinstein will be a guest on "Ask the White House," a special feature on the official White House web site, to discuss the President's visit to view the Emancipation Proclamation at the National Archives on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. In addition, the Archivist will answer general questions regarding other treasures in the National Archives holdings and his role and responsibilities as the Archivist of the United States.
"Ask the White House" is an online interactive forum on the White House web site, that allows the public to interact with Bush administration officials and friends of the White House to discuss the issues of the day. Launched in April 2003, citizens have participated in over 200 online discussions with Cabinet Secretaries, Senior White House Officials, behind-the-scenes professionals at the White House, and others.
