Electronic Records Archives (ERA)

ERA Legacy Schedules

To create a Transfer Request in ERA for an imminent transfer to the National Archives, the user must select the disposition authority for the records. Many, but not all, approved disposition authorities have been entered into ERA and are available. Please refer to this user's guide for Searching Legacy Record Schedules (DAL) in ERA 2.0.

The ERA Base Legacy Records Schedules report will assist Federal agencies and serve as a temporary crosswalk until all legacy record schedules (DALs) are migrated over to ERA 2.0. The crosswalk identifies legacy schedules and items when creating a Transfer Request, TR for the Annual Move. This report was last downloaded from ERA Base around March 2023. Please note that some of the items may have recently been superseded by a DAA. If you have any questions about the report, please send all inquiries to:  legacy.schedule@nara.gov.  For those authorities not yet entered, NARA staff will add them to ERA upon request.

To request entry of a legacy disposition authority required for a direct offer transfer request to NARA:

  1. Email your request to: legacy.schedule@nara.gov. In the subject line of the email include the NARA Standard Form (SF) 115 number, item number(s) within the SF 115, and the date of the request. Note: We do not accept agency manual citations.
    Example: N1-064-08-010, Item 1, March 6, 2015
    Example: N1-064-12-002, Items 6-8, May 25, 2015

  2. You will receive an email confirming that your request was received. We will give you an estimate of how long it will take to enter them in the system.

  3. You will receive a message from legacy.schedule@nara.gov when the disposition authority is ready for use.
