Memorandum to Senior Agency Officials For Records Management: Semi-Annual Report of Records Management Oversight Activities

Dear SAORM,

I am notifying you that my office has recently released our latest semi-annual report on records management: Semi-Annual Report of Records Management Oversight Activities: July - December 2021.   

This report summarizes NARA’s records management oversight activities completed from July 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. It identifies trends based on data gathered from federal agency annual records management reports, two topical assessments, one inspection, and multiple agency-specific plans of corrective action. I hope this information will be helpful as you continue to make improvements to your records management program. 

Our goal is to continue to share the best practices and lessons learned, as well as additional recommendations for actions we identify through our oversight work with the broader federal records management community. I look forward to sharing future semi-annual reports with you.
