Memorandum To Senior Agency Officials For Records Management: Semi-Annual Report of Records Management Oversight Activities

Dear Senior Agency Official for Records Management,

My office has released our latest semi-annual report on records management: Semi-Annual Report of Records Management Oversight Activities: July-December 2022. This report, and all of our previous semi-annual reports, is available on the Records Management Oversight and Reporting page on our website. 

This report summarizes NARA’s records management oversight activities completed from July 2, 2022 through December 31, 2022. It identifies trends from two topical assessments, one inspection, and multiple agency-specific plans of corrective action. It also highlights themes, key observations, and recommendations for action we have identified while completing our oversight activities.

Our goal is to continue to share the best practices and lessons learned we identify through our oversight work with the broader federal records management community. We look forward to sharing future semi-annual reports with you that will include additional recommendations for action by SAORMs, agency records officers, and other records management staff.
