Giannoni previously was research economist and assistant vice president in the macroeconomic and monetary studies function of the New York Fed.

President George H.W. Bush and the First Gulf War
General John B. Sylvester is retired from the United States Army. He is a graduate of Texas A&M and the United States Army War College. He served in the first Gulf War and is remembered for his command of the famous Tiger Brigade of the 2nd Armored Division. He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, two Bronze Stars and a Silver Star.

Latinos and Colorism: Survey Evidence on How Skin Color Impacts Opportunity and Shapes Daily Life
From impacting their ability to get ahead in the country to shaping their daily life experiences and discrimination, skin color is seen by Latinos as an important factor affecting their lives and life chances. And often, it is college educated Latinos who say skin color affects their lives, more so than those with other levels of educational attainment. These findings are from a March 2021 bilingual survey of U.S. Latino adults conducted online by the Pew Research Center.Mark Hugo Lopez is director of race and ethnicity research at Pew Research Center, where he leads planning of the Centers research agenda focused on chronicling the diverse, ever-changing racial and ethnic landscape of the United States. He is an expert on issues of racial and ethnic identity, Latino politics and culture, the U.S. Hispanic and Asian American populations, global and domestic immigration, and the U.S. demographic landscape. Lopez received his doctorate in economics from Princeton University.The Mosbacher Institutes Education Policy Workshops feature noted academics who are invited to discuss their current research. The workshops are designed to increase understanding of the research underlying current education policy and how those policies can affect the nations economic future.

Annual Easter Celebration
The Annual Easter Celebration, one of the most anticipated events of spring, will be held at the George H.W. Presidential Library and Museum on Saturday, April 9,from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Activities at the free event will be available for children aged 7 and under, and will include an Easter egg hunt, egg roll, egg toss, carnival games, face painting, kite-flying, door prizes, balloon animals, complimentary refreshments and photos with the Easter Bunny.The Annual Easter Celebration, modeled after the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, has been hosted by the Bush Library and Museum in partnership with the College Station Police Department since 1999, but the event has a long tradition in College Station. The police department has been putting on this event since its humble beginnings in 1982.Door prize registration will be at the stage at the event; there is no advanced registration for the drawing this year.Thanks to a generous donation by the College Station Wal-Mart, a bicycle and helmet will be given to a boy and girl in each of three age categories: 3 and under, 4-5, 6-7. Barco Book Presentation
On April 13, Ambassador Carolina Barco, former Colombian foreign minister, will honor the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum with the donation of a three-volume set of books commemorating the life of her father, past-President Virgilio Barco Vargas. Over the past year, as part of a time-honored tradition to honor former presidents during the year of their one hundredth birthday, Colombia honored Barcos life of public service. The commemorative events and projects, commissioned by the current President Ivn Duque Mrquez, included conferences, an exhibition, podcasts, a documentary, and a three-volume book of Barco's legacy.Barcos presidential term, 1986-1990, overlapped with the end of George H.W. Bushs vice-presidency and beginning of his presidency. During this time, they developed a strong personal friendship and promoted a strong relationship between their countries. Out of appreciation for President Bush's support for Colombia during their father's presidency, Ambassador Barco and her siblings are donating the historic three-volume set to the Bush Library and two additional biographies.The three-volume series, entitled Virgilio Barco: A Tribute, is a commemorative set of books edited by renowned political scientist and former Minister and Ambassador Fernando Cepeda Ulloa. The other two books being donated are Barco: Life and Events of a Crucial President and the Violent World He Confronted, written by an English historian from Oxford University, Malcolm Deas, and Virgilio Barco, the Last Liberal, written by a Colombian historian, Leopoldo Villar Borda.The books will be presented in the orientation theater in the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum on April 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. The event is open to the public.
