Overview

This is an awareness tutorial to introduce you to the concept of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), the Presidential issuance related to CUI, the goals and benefits of CUI as opposed to the former ad hoc "Sensitive But Unclassified" practices, and the timelines related to the development of the CUI program.  This tutorial will be followed by additional segments that will further explain CUI and include training on how and when to begin implementing the CUI policy in your everyday work.

By the end of this introductory course, you will be able to:

  • Describe CUI
  • Discuss the implementation of the President's direction for the CUI program
  • Identify the goals of CUI
  • Describe the benefits of CUI in your job
