CUI Perspectives

Select each of the people below to learn more about how they believe CUI will benefit them.

d An interactive graphic with perspectives from three different CUI users. When each user is selected, the following audio plays: Program Analyst: As a program analyst in the federal government, my job requires that I share sensitive unclassified information with other federal government agencies. Sometimes the information is not correctly protected because each agency uses different markings. I look forward to implementing the CUI program so I can consistently share information using open and transparent practices. Law Enforcement Officer: As a State Trooper, I often work with people outside of my State's jurisdiction like the FBI and FEMA on cases that require extra security. It can be confusing to know how to get the right information into the right hands, especially when so many of the markings may be very similar but mean different things. With everyone using standardized markings, things will be so much easier. It will make it more clear who I can share the information with. Private Sector/Federal Contractor: I work in the private sector as a contractor supporting several agencies in the federal government. Currently I have to follow different rules for handling sensitive information for each contract. I can't wait for the implementation of CUI so that I will have one clear set of rules for contracts involving this type of information.
