Records of the Rehabilitation Division

In the fall of 1918, the Federal Board of Vocational Education divided the country into 14 districts.  In 1921, the district offices were combined with Public Health Service offices performing work with ex-servicemen to form the district offices of the Veterans’ Bureau. In 1924-1925, the Bureau morphed the old district offices into 54 regional offices.

Region 6 (New Orleans)

This region covered the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.

Region 14 (Dallas)

This region covered the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
