Memorandum to Federal Records Management Contacts: Letter to Agency Heads Concerning Federal Records Management Responsibilities For Agencies
Last week, the Senior Advisor to the Acting Archivist of the United States sent a letter to agency heads reminding them of the importance of federal records management.
The letter emphasizes the crucial importance of agency heads working with their Senior Agency Official for Records Management and Agency Records Officers to support records management. All agency officials and employees must be properly trained on their records management responsibilities.
I also wanted to share this important message with the broader federal records management community. Please review the resources we have posted on our website for additional information about federal records management.
Please send any questions to rm.communications@nara.gov.
