RG 119 - National Youth Administration

Provided work training for unemployed youth and part-time employment for needy students.

Correspondence Files

Correspondents include officials of the National Youth Administration; various city, county, and state agencies; representatives of civic organizations; and academic institutions.

The series also include reports and data files of the regional directors concerning programs and workshops related to or engaged in defense production. Topics covered include surplus properties throughout the United States, general defense orders, youth quotas, and programs of the National Youth Administration.

    This series contains closed contract files with businesses and organizations for apprenticeship programs.  These may include contract forms, program outlines, information relating to the business, and information relating to apprentice applications.
