    Meet some the Sailors of the USS George H.W. Bush Supercarrier on Saturday, April 6, at 1:15 p.m. in the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum Rotunda. They will be presenting a Ships Wheel to the museum which will be displayed in the George Bush Memorial exhibit. The Sailors include four Sailors of the Year and the ships command team. For more information visit bush41.org."The men and women assigned to the USS George H W Bush wanted to honor their namesake and pay tribute to his legacy of service to our nation, as a naval aviator during World War Two, as a Statesman and Diplomat, and as our President.     To Catch a Spy offers a wake-up call for the American public and also a guide for how our country can do a better job of protecting its national security and trade secrets. Olson takes the reader into the arcane world of counterintelligence as he lived it during his thirty-year career in the CIA. After an overview of what the Chinese, Russian, and Cuban spy services are doing to the United States, Olson explains the nitty-gritty of the principles and methods of counterintelligence.James M. Olson served for over thirty years in the Directorate of Operations of the Central Intelligence Agency, mostly overseas in clandestine operations. In addition to several foreign assignments, he was chief of counterintelligence at CIA headquarters in Virginia. Currently, he is a Professor of the Practice at the Bush School of Government and Public Service of Texas A&M University. He is the author of Fair Play: The Moral Dilemmas of Spying.This Issues Forum is in conjunction with an exhibit at the Bush Library and Museum, "Spies, Traitors, Saboteurs: Fear and Freedom in America, created by the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC. The exhibit provides unprecedented perspective into terror on American soil. The exhibition uncovers the forgotten stories of domestic terrorists and foreign agents, militant radicals and saboteurs, who have threatened America's sense of security over the past 200 years.

    Renowned Photographer to Host Issues Forum at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum

    This Issues Forum is in conjunction with an exhibit at the Bush Library and Museum, Grand Canyon Photographs: Celebrating the Centennial 1919-2019, photographed and curated by Mark Burns. Centered around the centennial anniversary of Grand Canyon National Park in 2019, the exhibit celebrates the visual image and the role it has played in the history and creation of our national parks. The photographs were taken between 2011 to 2018 and explore multiple genres of photography such as traditional black & white and color landscape, contemporary landscape and pictorialism."I wanted to explore a variety of photographic genres with this project," says Burns. "For me, It's not really about photographing what I'm seeing, but rather what I'm feeling. This is especially important when you're talking about something as vast and majestic as the Grand Canyon. This exhibit has plenty of traditional pieces, but there will also be some conceptual works as well." Admission is free, but seating is limited, and reservations are encouraged.
