Joseph Little Bristow (1861-1944) was a newspaper owner and editor, fourth assistant postmaster general, U.S. senator from Kansas. Includes correspondence and papers, 1894-1925 (bulk 1897-1918), dealing with his years as fourth assistant postmaster general (1897-1905), appointment as special commissioner of the Panama Railway Company investigation (1905), one term as a U.S. senator from Kansas (1909-15), and work as chairman of the Kansas Public Utilities Commission (1915-18).
