Grants Organized by State and Territory
For over six decades, the NHPRC has funded projects in all 50 states and 4 territories through a competitive grants process. These awards support work for preserving, publishing, and providing access to vital historical documents in the United States.
Since the 1970s, the NHPRC has also supported the work of State Historical Records Advisory Boards, known as SHRABs, to meet statewide and local needs to advance archival practice.
Projects funded by Congressionally Directed Spending (awards given to the states by Congress and administered by the NHPRC) are not included in this list.
