312.1 ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY

Established: In the Department of the Interior by the Defense Production Act of 1950, implemented by the Secretary of the Interior's Order 2591, October 3, 1950. Functions: Administered a program for development and execution of policies and programs for meeting military, government, industrial, and civilian requirements for petroleum and gas.

Abolished: Effective April 30, 1954, by Secretary of the Interior's Order 2755, April 23, 1954.

Successor Agencies: Oil and Gas Division, Department of the Interior.
