The Digital Einstein Papers is an open-access site for The Collected Papers of Albert Einstein, an ongoing documentary edition of more than 30,000 unique documents.  Albert Einstein (1879-1955) was a German-born theoretical physicist, best known for developing the theory of relativity and  important contributions to quantum mechanics. He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect. Einstein became an American citizen in 1940.
