The private papers and official records of Alexander Ramsey (1815–1903), United States representative and senator who was also the territorial and state governor of Minnesota, the mayor of St. Paul, and the Secretary of War during the administration of Rutherford B. Hayes. This collection includes personal correspondence, diaries, letter books, financial records, scrapbooks, and pamphlets, as well as the official files for Ramsey’s terms of office as governor.

70 reels, 78-page guide. Also available are 3 reels of research note cards, including an inventory.
