Isaac Ingalls Stevens (1818 –1862) was the first Governor of Washington Territory, a United States Congressman, and a brigadier general in the Union Army during the American Civil War until his death at the Battle of Chantilly.  The microfilm edition contains his diary, reports, personal documents, speeches, and correspondence (1831–62).  Reports primarily concern the northern railroad survey.
