Correspondence and other records of the teaching and nursing order of nuns that had its origin in 1841 in Le Mans, France, and expanded to Indiana in 1843. Since 1843, the sisters have spread into all areas of the United States. In 1869 they became independent of their French connection. The Sisters are dedicated to “Education for liberation” among children, youth, women and those underserved in society.
