William Henson Wallace (1811 –1879) served as governor and Congressional delegate from both Washington Territory and Idaho Territory. This collection consists principally of letters received by Wallace while he was Territorial Delegate in Congress from Washington (1863–65) and Idaho (1864–65) and while he was Governor of Idaho (1863–64). Among the correspondents are John M. Chapman, S.O. Coombs, Arthur Armstrong Denny, and J.H. Scranton.
